Australian born Rob Tognoni is one of the most exhilarating electric guitar players around today. His repertoire is a blend of Classic Rock and Blues which he plays with invigorating zeal and incomparable attack. With influences ranging from the legendary Blues masters like BB King to hard rockers AC/DC, by way of Jimi Hendrix, Tognoni's fancy fretwork of catchy riffs, crushing chords, and explosive solos posses something that only few guitarists have; character and a very own, instantly recognizable unique sound and style. Born in Tasmania, Rob Tognoni (a.k.a. The Tasmanian Devil) first made his name with the multi award-winning Australian band The Outlaws before being discovered by fellow Australian slide guitar master Dave Hole, who brought him to Europe and to the attention of Provogue Records, where Rob released 4 albums between 1996 and 2002.

Jazz / Soul Jazz / Jazz Blues / Jazz Funk / Saxophone / 7-String Guitar

Saxophonist Rob Dixon, who mainly plays a muscular tenor sax here, is based in Indiana (the Crossroads state) but also works a lot on the East and West Coasts—hence the album title. He has done three tours with guitarist Charlie Hunter's band, and the 7-string guitar phenomenon returns the favor here by both playing and producing the album. The core band is completed by legendary drummer Mike Clark (who made his name playing with pianist/composer Herbie Hancock in the 1970s), who Dixon had worked with on previous album projects. Brooklyn-based trombonist Ernest Stuart contributes front line harmonies, as well as hot solos on half of the tracks.

For many metal fans out there, Rob Rock is a man that needs no introduction. He has performed for numerous metal acts dating back to the mid 1980's. Actually, the list is quite long: M.A.R.S., Angelica, Driver, Joshua, Axel Rudi Pell, Impellitteri, Warrior, and Avantasia. Eyes of Eternity is another quality album to add to Rob's discography. This is Rob's second solo album, the follow up to the 2000 release Rage of Creation. Eyes of Eternity sees Rob Rock kicking up the intensity of the music, while not forgetting his melodic roots.

Reissue with the latest remastering. Features original cover artwork. A heck of a set from Dutch pianist Rob Agerbeek – easily one of the most soulful European pianists of the 70s, even in an acoustic setting like this! Rob's got a bite on the keys that reminds us a lot more of American players from the 60s – not a straight soul jazz groove, but a style that definitely draws from that mode – then opens up into some more lyrical elements that are more in keeping with overseas expression in the 70s. The trio matches his energy nicely – especially on the upbeat numbers that rule the set – with bass from Harry Emmery and drums from Eric Ineke.
